Canon ran this paper advertisement, taken from a 1988 magazine, and is one of a series of ads on endangered animals that offered wildlife information. The ad features their Color Laser Copier. It includes a color photo of the Blakiston’s Fish OwlBlakistoni – of the Blakistoni species – and lists its size, weight, and number in existence at the time of the advertisement. Forests along rivers, small and fragmented populations in areas of the Soviet Far East, Manchuria, North Korea and Hokkaido are stated as the animal’s habitat range.
