The makers of Tums ran this paper advertisement that came from a 1947 magazine and features Capt. John J. Ayres of the Ridgewwod NJ police. Ad shows the captain saying: I eat coffee and cake, coffee and a sandwich, coffee and doughnuts. And when acid indigestion starts trouble, I just slip one or two Tums in my mouth, and get that great Tums relief?fast! Ad comes uncut from its original page and is dated November 10, 1947.
