W.A. Taylor & Company ran this paper advertisement that came from a 1949 magazine and features Old Smuggler Blended Scotch Whisky. All of these ads had the statement: Don’t waste a drop that’s Old Smuggler with someone’s name highlighted in a comic. Why is it called Old Smuggler? Because in ancient days the thrifty Scots bought their finest whisky from the “smugglers.” Why is it Scotch with history? Because it was established in 1835 and perpetuates a colorful era in Scottish history. Magazine ad comes uncut from its original page and is dated on the page December 5, 1949. Great bar decor for Horatio in this comic caption of lost at sea of a raft. Cartoon drawing is by A. Taylor.
