Jack Daniel’s Distillery ran this paper advertisement that came from a 1999 magazine and features Old No. 7 Brand Tennessee Whiskey. The ad reads: Each September we salute the man whose name has graced the bottle for 133 years. The day might change from year too year, for no one knows exactly when Mr. Jack came into the world. But that doesn’t stop us from raising a glass to the man who prescribed a method of mellowing whiskey that we still use today.
