Jack Daniel’s Distillery ran this paper advertisement that came from a 1998 magazine and features Old No. 7 Brand Tennessee Whiskey. This ad tells of Jack Daniel’s country, an old country where change occurs, but tradition governs. The ad reads: …in the Tennessee hills, we make an old-time whiskey in much the same fashion Jack Daniel’s did back in 1866. We cut maple wood into strips, then stack it and burn it into charcoal, through which we mellow every drop.
