Container Corporation of America ran this paper advertisement that came from a 1948 magazine and featured many series of modernistic ads for different magazines which are truly a landmark in the history of advertising. Most ads were designed by some of the most innovative graphic designers of the era. The artist of this collector’s ad is a native of North Carolina, Herbert McClure. The ad on the back is a colorful Season’s Best Christmas ad for Glenmore Distillers showing their holiday packaging and brands like Old Thompson, Kentucky Tavern.
